I'm caught up on all the shows except for Arrow of which I've only seen the first two seasons. I know Sara dies in my next episode of Arrow so I've been putting it off but I plan on getting caught up on it by summer at the latest.
Of the three I am caught up on, Legends is my favourite but I also really love the Flash and Supergirl.
Favourite Character? Leonard Snart. He originally caught my attention on the Flash because he was the first one to actually like being a supervillain and I liked how his journey went from that to being a hero on Legends. I also find he's a very tragic character. I'll stop there because I could probably write a whole post about how much I love him. I'm constantly living in denial that he'll return from the dead at any moment.
Second fave is Leo because he's Snart but happy. After that there's a whole lot of characters (in no particular order) Zari, Sara, Ray, Mick, Nate, Amaya, Ava, Constantine, Charlie, Barry, Iris, Cisco, Kara, Lena, Oliver, Nia, Brainy, Alex, Nora, Thawne, Harry, Sherloque, Ralph and many many more.
OTP: Mick/Snart and Leo/Ray T. It depends on my mood which one I favour at the moment. Leo/Ray because they're cute and sweet, Mick/Snart because they're possessive and dicks to each other but also care for each other in their own fucked up ways.
Other pairings I like are Zari/Charlie, Ava/Sara, Barry/Iris, Constantine/Desmond, Nate/Ray, Mick/anyone, Nate/Amaya, Ray/Nora Snart/Sara, Mick/Snart/Sara, Nia/Brainy, Barry/Oliver and Barry/Iris/Oliver.
Legends is a surprise favorite for me, too, but mostly because it's so damn ridiculous, but perfectly so. Like it never takes itself too seriously, even during the climactic battles (fucking BEEBO wth XD XD XD).
The Flash was my favorite at first because I love Barry Allen he is my fictional best friend okay, but then the end of season three happened and I started to realize just how lazy the writers are, and how much they will screw up their own themes just to avoid any actual character growth. I mean, I could also talk about the solution to Caitlin's "Who am I, I'm not Caitlin, but I'm not Killer Frost" situation from season four but... uuuuugh. I suspect there's more going on with that in season five, and waiting until the shows are on Netflix might just be the death of me.
Supergirl also surprisingly rose in the ranks for me with season three, which was probably some of the most relevant, intelligent writing in ANY of the four shows so far. Which... I was not expecting. And then it happened.
Arrow is my least favorite Ollie could you just... fucking learn something please. Just once. Just... one time.
That's why I love Legends so much, it's so ridiculous and silly, I can't help but love it.
I definitely think the Flash started suffering in Season 3. At the start of Season 4 it's like the writers forgot how Killer Frost/Caitlin ended the previous season. Oddly enough though, I find Season 5 to be a huge improvement. I find the characters all so likeable this season (even Ralph and I hated Ralph in Season 4). I don't know if they brought in new writers or what but it feels like they actually care about the show again.
I agree about Supergirl rising in Season 3. I liked the first season (but still preferred the Flash and Legends) but I thought it stumbled a bit with Season 2. Season 3 was good though and I like Season 4 even better.
SHHHHHHHHHHHHH. No more about season 5!! (Or season 4 of Supergirl!
But that IS good to hear. I can't wait until they're on Netflix. If it's in May, that'll be right around the time of the end of my semester and HOPEFULLY graduation and I will celebrate with a DC TV binge.
Like, first there was Alex coming out and her relationship with Maggie (MAGGIE WASN'T RIGHT FOR YOU, ALEX, YOU'LL FIND SOMEONE BETTER.) Then there was James as Guardian and UGH in that one episode when the cop had a choice between the white perpetrators and the black man... it was done so subtly and so well it actually took me a couple of scenes to GET what had just happened.
I thought I saw something about Leo returning to one of the shows, probably Legends, but didn't read the whole thing because, spoilers. And I've not seen him or anything about his return yet and now I'm sad! Because I know Wentworth Miller said he'd filmed his last scenes as Snart the previous season, but anything's possible with guest spots and alternate dimensions and timelines, so I hold out hope :)
It was probably just speculation. A few months ago I was also wondering if Leo was going to return this season because Wentworth Miller said he was going to be busy and then he vanished from Facebook for a month. Unfortunately the episodes filmed during that period have already aired so his disappearance involved something else.
I still hold out hope for next season though, or even later this season on the Flash if Wentworth isn't busy filming Prison Break. Because he said he would return for the right story so I don't think he's done-done the way some fans think he is.
I've watched up to the last two seasons, and got bogged down. I love some of the characters, but the plot lines drive me a bit nuts. I am hoping that being in this group will get me back into the Queendom a bit more, but truly, I am fonder of the other characters than of Oliver a lot of the time. I want to smack him upside the head and say,"Listen to them! They know more than you do!"
Hi! I'm totally with you, honestly Arrow isn't my favorite of the Arrowverse shows because there's only so much of Forever Broody Ollie I can take. And he learns nothing. Ever.
(Just a reminder that I haven't seen the current season, and won't until it's on Netflix.)
I watched the Flash for a while -- have not caught up with the last season. Life got busy, y'know? Saw maybe three eps of Legends and it didn't work for me. It felt too patched-together. Are there others I should be seeing?
First, I'd recommend trying Legends again, give it until season two. It gets better.
Then there's Supergirl. Which starts of cute and fine (AND BARRY SHOWS UP IN EPISODE 18 OF SEASON ONE AND BARRY AND KARA ARE ADORABLE BESTIES FOREVER) and then suddenly in season three gets like... holy shit what right does this show have to suddenly be this good?
Other shows that are technically or could be considered part of this continuity maybe: Black Lightning, Titans, I guess. I haven't watched either yet, but I plan on watching BL.
But Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends are the main four, the ones that usually crossover once a season.
Can I join if I mostly only watch Flash but have seen a little of all the others by proxy? My partner watches them all and I've skimmed a few scenes. There're so little comms about the series here, I want to find others who dig it.
So basically - Flash is my current fixation, faves are Harry & Cisco (& Iris & Nora & Barry), Harrisco (I have a comm for it here too) & Westallen are everything, I have also inexplicably gotten into Sherloque/Ralph.
My contribution to the fandom is dumb shitposts & drawings (check my posts to find my art comm, it's not tough). Idk what else to say lol.
OMGs someone who likes both a canon and het ship??? HI. I mean I have some non-canon and non-het ships too, but being more of a gen!fic kinda fan, I tend to stick with canon pairings (and canon gay ships are SO SATISFYING--like TAKE THAT HETERONORMATIVITY!).
I write fic, and I think way too hard about canon and ask questions like "So wait, what happens in the usual loop after Savitar kills Iris? Does he just... wander around for four years until being trapped in the Speed Force? When the future time remnant that becomes Savitar leaves the future... where the hell does he go? We never see him, he's not the Savitar that comes from the Speed Force, that's the one that future Team Flash trapped four years after the death of Iris. TIME LOOPS, WHAT THE HELL."
I don't know if you know who Mark Oshiro is, but I take his stance to spoilers: ZERO spoilers means ZERO spoilers, not even the barest hint. I want to go into something new with no expectations. :)
Hi! I've watched Arrow and Supergirl in the past but now only see them during the crossover weeks. I'm still watching The Flash and Legends is my favourite! (Just finished the sole season of Constantine which fits nicely with John joining the team.) Looking forward to all the discussions and fanworks we can have on this comm :)
Hi! CROSSOVERS ARE BEST. I can't wait to see the crossover for the current seasons. TIME GO FASTER.
Feel free to start some discussions and/or post some fanworks! (Just make sure to read the rules first--there's a tag, and they can also be found in the comm's profile.)
GASP. IS THAT A WATCHERS SYMBOL??? OH MY GODS SOMEONE ELSE IS OLD ENOUGH TO REMEMBER THAT SHOW????
Oh nuuuuuuuuuu. What seasons of each of the shows are you up to? Also, always tell people who start to talk about things you haven't seen if you'd prefer to avoid spoilers. Don't let people spoil you if you don't want to be spoiled!
Hi! Sophia, UK. I was out of active online fandom for years, and then a couple of years ago I found The Flash and I threw myself back in. Now I’m back on dreamwidth in response to the tumblrpocalypse. My favourite of the shows is Legends (the sheer joy of it! The characters! The ridiculousness!) But I like the tone balance you get across all the shows, including The Flash and Arrow. OTPs include Len/Mick (I write them a lot), Zari/Amaya (I miss them), a bunch of other canon and fanon pairings, and quite a few rarepairs. I also love me some gen. Always keen to hear fic recs. Good to meet you all!
Legends is the best kind of ridiculous. I love it. I can't say it's my favorite, but it's kinda hard to determine which show is my favorite right now (used to be The Flash before I realized how freaking lazy the writers are).
Arrow is my least favorite, because lazy writers there, too, which means that Oliver never really grows or changes no matter how much shit gets thrown at him.
So, I posted a link earlier in the comm (under my other name) for my epic genfic, The Savitar Chronicles. If you're interested.
Go ahead and start posting your own fanworks! Just be sure to read the rules! There's a tag and they're also in the comm's profile. :)
Hi. Hans here. Used to be on LJ years ago and got a DW account when that went downhill but didn't use it so much. Just coming back to DW more now due to tumblr messing up (still on there but want to crosspost and use here for better discussion).
I watch Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl though I'm behind on most of them. Arrow I got into first (I'm behind 2 seasons, only up to end of S5 in watching) but The Flash became my favourite pretty quickly after starting watching that too. Not seen any of S5 yet for The Flash, though tumblr spoilers got to me, will catch up sometime soon I hope. Supergirl I've only seen about the 1st season, should watch more. Legends of Tomorrow is the only one I'm up to date on actually - I love their romps through time, it makes a nice change of pace.
Too hard to pick a favourite character but I write Barry or Caitlin POV most. Ray P is my fave from LoT, but I love so many of the characters. Gen fic is great but I also have too many ships, most non-canon, many rarepairs.

Sherloque is just another Wells, except he's french and. a detective, as one would imagine.
Lol I don't really bother with the ridiculousness of Savitar's plot - the entirety of its existence relies on forcing OOC on everybody else.
